Skin Care Treatment Relieves the Stress of the Holidays

10/11/2007

Despite the fact that the holiday season is always busier than the rest of the year, a lot of holiday chores are fun. Decorating the tree, seeing friends and family, cooking up a storm, eating our favorite foods, finding just the right gifts for the people we love – for many of us, it’s our favorite time of year. But when you’re also holding down a 9 to 5 job, these extra chores can take their toll. Everything has to be done nights and weekends and just when you want to look your best, you look tired and worn out. Maintaining your regular skin care treatment routine is vital at this time of year and, coincidentally, the things that will keep the bags and sags down to a minimum are also the things that will give you the extra energy you need.

Here’s what you do:

  • When you’re wrapping presents, use a shielding lotion. Paper absorbs the skin’s natural oils and moisture; a good shielding lotion locks in natural moisture so wrapping presents doesn’t cause dry skin.
  • Avoid eating fast foods. You may be in a hurry, but eating fresh food with plenty of fruit and vegetables will maintain a steady stream of energy and prevent that haggard look you can get from too much sugar and junk.
  • Get enough sleep. That may be a little hard to do, especially if you’re also working at your regular job during most of the holidays, but being rested will avoid bags and sags and reduce the stress. Sleep is a vital basic for good skin care treatment.
  • Take the time to exercise. You may feel like you’re getting more exercise just going from one store to another to do your Christmas shopping, but shopping is start and stop. Your body needs continuous exercise for about 20 minutes. Exercise also causes the body to release endorphins – just the kind of natural pain and stress relief you need.
  • Keep up your regular skin care treatment. It only takes a few minutes, and letting things slide for a few days could really set you back. In the end, it will save time, and make you feel better. If you can get to the spa, a good skin care treatment can also be very relaxing.
  • When you understand how to care for your skin, you can improve its condition. There is a great deal of educational information about skin care available.

You don’t have to get worn out and haggard over the holiday season. Instead, try a good diet, exercise, lots of sleep and a good shielding lotion. This winning combination is the ultimate in natural skin treatment. Your skin will be soft, hydrated and supple, and you will look and feel your best when friends and family arrive to celebrate the season.
