New Skin Treatment Product Slithers Across Your Driveway

Many of us are constantly on the lookout for new, breakthrough skin treatment products in the hopes that we’ll find the ultimate solution – something that dissolves every line, wrinkle, bag and sag, evens out our skin tone, gets rids of every blemish, tightens our jaw line, lifts our upper eyelids, and makes us look 20 years younger – the whole kit and caboodle in one little bottle. Shielding lotion is a real breakthrough when it comes to skin treatment for dry skin, eczema and a number of other conditions but recent research has revealed another unusual substance that may help with skin regeneration – snail serum.

That’s right – that slimy little trail left in the wake of snails making their way across the pavement is proving to be a little bit of a miracle. When you think about it, it is quite amazing that snails can crawl across the roughest surfaces apparently unscathed – no cuts or scrapes and, apparently, no infections – so it is logical that they might have something to contribute to skin treatment.

So, what’s in snail serum? It may be no surprise to find that the secret lies in antioxidant activity: The serum sequesters free radicals so they don’t destroy the integrity of other cells, and it also prevents free radical production.

A few companies are now producing natural skin treatment products containing snail serum and you might want to give them a try. However, make sure you choose a natural product – many products containing natural ingredients also contain mineral oil or other petroleum by-products, propylene glycol and other toxic ingredients that defeat the purpose of using something with natural healing properties. You take one step forward with the natural ingredients and two steps back with the chemicals.

As many skin treatment products contain harmful chemicals, it’s always a relief to find something new from Mother Nature – although I have to admit I would never have considered rubbing a snail on my face.

If you’re looking for skin rejuvenation, check out the snail serum products. But if you need a skin care treatment that prevents and treats dry skin or eczema, your best bet is still a good shielding lotion.
